For the renovation of this historic elementary school, a new forecourt was designed that replicates the building’s brick motif, creating a more cohesive and visually engaging entry statement.

Canopy trees were added on the south side to shade classrooms, and a new California native plant garden provides a living laboratory for students and teachers alike.

To dissipate and filter stormwater coming from roof leaders, a new rain garden featuring decorative cobbles and grasses was installed, drawing water roughly 50 feet from the building.
