Gingerbread Child Development Center

Gingerbread Preschool is an inclusive, play based program that supports children through purposeful play and a progressive academic curriculum set within the Amador Valley Community Park. This center serves 325 children in a year-round program ranging from 18 months through preschool age to prepare them for kindergarten. The design involved children’s input and they observed the ongoing construction activity. Elements include a climbable statue of a hippo, a giraffe femur bone hidden in the fibar, a sampan replica boat to climb on for imaginary play, animal paw prints sand blasted in to the concrete, as well as creative learning with chalk and painting.
