Keller Mitchell designed landscape and hardscape for this 20-acre hilly site of a new observatory and educational center. Multi-use plazas incorporate a combination of astronomical and geological imagery. An amphitheater with an outdoor staging and stargazing deck provides outdoor education opportunities.

Drought-resistant native plantings are consistent with the Center's Vegetative Management Study program, and existing coastal redwoods and select manzanita species were protected.

The project was recognized with an ASLA Design Award in 2001.
